India Initiates Anti - dumping Investigation on Chinese - made Acrylic Sheets

On December 29, 2023, Indias Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation on acrylic solid surfaces originating in or imported from China. This decision was taken in response to an application by domestic company Stylam Industries Limited, demonstrating Indias resolve to protect domestic industries from international competitive pressures.

The HS codes of the products under investigation include 39205111, 39205119, 39205199, 39206390, 39219039, 39269069, and 35069999. The dumping investigation period is set from April 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023, while the injury investigation period covers April 1, 2019, to June 30, 2023.

This decision by Indias Ministry of Commerce and Industry is a significant support for the domestic acrylic sheet manufacturing industry, aiming to investigate whether Chinese-made acrylic sheets are entering the Indian market at prices below normal value, thereby causing harm to the domestic industry.

Interested parties are required to submit relevant information to the investigating authority via email within 30 days of the initiation of the investigation.
